There are many Zones in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, better known as W.A.R., and the Zones each have their own personality and edge that they give the online players of Warhammer Online. So how do Zones work and how do each character survive and outwit the others in the Zones that are more advantageous to each player. For example, Talebecland is more advantageous to the Armies of Order characters simply because it’s nearby the ruling center for The Empire. However, many of the other Zones have specific pieces of knowledge surrounding them that will make it easier for victory for either side.

One Zone that should be paid careful attention to is the High Pass. Even though the current stage of the High Pass in Warhammer Online is more beneficial to the Armies of Destruction and the followers of the gods of Chaos, the victory in the Highlands is clearly anyone's game. Some players are already speculating that the Greenskins, Dark Elves, and other soldiers of the Army of Destruction will claim defeat and conquer the High Pass simply because other ravenous beasts and angry monsters and characters are already plentiful in High Pass. However, there is clearly an advantage for the Army of Order in High Pass. This advantage over the Army of Destruction is that the High Elves actually molded High Pass into what it is now. This is good for the Army of Order for a couple reasons. The first reason is that the High Elves already know the layout of the land and know all the benefits of where to fight and where not to fight. Another benefit is that the High Elves will use their knowledge of High Pass and how they have shaped the land to their full benefit, making the Armies of Destruction completely immobile.

There are clearly pros and cons for each side when speculating whether the Armies of Order or Destruction will gain control of High Pass. But High Pass is not the only Zone that characters and players need to worry about. The Zone called Talebecland needs to be worried about whether or not the Armies of Destruction have an easy time getting through the land to the Empire, whereas the Armies of Destruction are more concerned about keeping control of the lands that they already are in control of, like Norsca. The Army of Order will not stand a chance up against any evil character in Norsca no matter how powerful that character may be.

When it comes to examining the High Pass Zone, as well as any other Zone throughout the Warhammer Online game, there is much to think about when it comes to character advantages and overall Army advantages. No longer are characters simply playing for themselves, but they are responsible for the rest of their fellow soldiers when they cross into unknown Zones.
